The *LP* Rental Bid Board is a powerful way to sell items with a chance of receiving the most possible $L for them. It is completely customizable for ANY type of sale. You can load multiple items of ANY item type except for textures. This is because the texture you load, will display on the front display of the bid board!! This texture will NOT be given to the top bidder at the end of your bid!! You can add items that you do NOT have copy rights to, as long as you can transfer them. (If you can add them to the board, they can sell!) You have the option at any time to stop the bid, refund the current bidder, and get your inventory items back. This way you can then change price, time, items, extend your lease, etc. You can even force the bid at any time if you just decide you want to sell the items at the current bid price and start a new one!! When the time of your bid is up, the top bidder will be given your items and you will receive the top bid amount from the board owner, minus any commission, if the board owner has configured it to keep commissions. (ask the board owner about commissions before rental) If no one has bid on your item, the bid board will automatically start over and notify you when it does.
If your lease is about to expire, you will have received 2 IMs notifying you of this. One at 24 hours and another 1 hour in advance so you can pay the board to extend your lease or simply let it expire. You cannot extend your lease while an open bid is running. It is recommend you make sure to note the remaining time of your lease before you set your bid length. You cannot set a bid that will run past the time remaining on your lease. Along with the reminder IMs, every menu also displays the amount of days and/or hours you have remaining on your lease.
The owner has the same options that a renter does, and more. You have the ability to change the backboard texture between 9 different colors, the option of designating a default texture for the center display panel, and of course a few admin options too. When someone else has rented the board from you, at any time you have the ability to kick them out, terminating their lease, and return their items. Upon doing so, the highest bidder WILL be refunder their $L back but the renter will NOT be refunded. This actions should only be carried out due to a disciplinary action. You can even force their bid if you absolutely have to, though not recommended without permission from the renter. You also have the ability to reset the entire system in case of SL issues, which will also terminate the renters lease, return their items, and refund the highest bidders $L.
The inventory of the bid board is frequently cleaned out if it is being rented by someone else (returned for non copyable items, then removed to get rid of copyable items). The inventory will also be cleaned out if you yourself are using it and someone wins the bid, or you force the board. This makes setting up new bids quick and easy. If no one bids on a certain item, the bid automatically restarts and notifies you or a renter when it does. This way the board can keep trying to sell your item. Remember, you can always come back and change it at any time.
